Hi,
We are installing a prototype Biztalk 2010 environment with a resilient 2 server active/passive SQL back end. We are at the stage of installing the SQL cluster, and according to the 'Biztalk 2010 multi server environment' document, 'named instances of Analysis Services are not supported', therefore I guess that Analysis Services can be installed into the default instance at the same time as Database Services (and I guess in the same cluster resource group).
This seems to be conflicting with Microsoft clustering best practices - that Analysis Services should be in a different cluster resource group to the SQL database services.
Can anyone tell me whether in a typical small (resilient) installation, whether Analysis Services (required for BAM databases) would typically be installed on the same SQL cluster as the rest of the SQL components, or own it's own server or servers? I have looked through a few Microsoft Biztalk 2010 installation guides, and also the 'scaleout deployment roadmap' but can't find information regarding where the BAM databases should be located.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks
John
